A native vine of the Piacenza area, it is characterized by a refined and delicate organoleptic balance that makes it unmistakable.
Such a simple but precious balance makes it the ideal match for many traditional Piacenza recipes.
Best served between 8° – 10° C.
Pairings: By being so well balanced, it is the ideal pairing for many Piacenza recipes and other fish recipes in general.
History of the vineyard: Ortrugo was eventually adopted in 1927 by the Italia Agricola magazine that stated that the Ortrugo was one of the main white wine varieties of the Piacenza province. After many misfortunes, at the beginning of the 1970s, many wine producers from the Piacenza area began giving value to the variety, first of all by vinifying it in purity. From 2010, the Ortrugo has its own set of rules for its three varieties: still, sparkling and spumante.
