ALUDRA - BARBERA Colli Piacentini DOC Titano comes from a careful selection of Barbera and Croatina grapes, hand-picked and from the best vineyards located in the Vicobarone area, in the heart of the Classic Gutturnio. The favorable exposure, the low yield per hectare and the clayey soil allows to obtain a grape of great roundness which, after crushing and aging for about six months in steel barrels, becomes a full-bodied wine, with typical vinous notes and small red fruits. Titano goes well with cold cuts, rich first courses, roast meats and medium-aged cheeses.
Serve at 16 ° - 18 ° C.
Food pairing: Accompany it with traditional cuisine, rich first courses, roast meats. Chef Claudio Cesena of Antica Osteria della Pesa recommends pairing with tasty ravioli stuffed with "picula ad cavàl".
History of the vine: Gutturnio is obtained from Barbera (55-70%) and Croatina (30-45 %). The name derives from a silver mug called Gutturnium, found on the banks of the Po river in Croce S. Spirito (Castelvetro Piacentino) in 1878, used by the ancient Romans to drink wine. To learn more about the history of Gutturnio, click here.
