PLEIONE JEROBOAM Gutturnio Classico Fermo Riserva DOC Pleione is obtained from the joint vinification of Croatina and Barbera grapes produced in the best vineyards of the Cantina di Vicobarone for exposure and conformation of the soil. The age of the plants and the low yield per hectare contribute to obtaining a grape from the extraordinary qualities that, picked up manually and wisely vinified, after a two-year refinement in large oak barrels, allows to obtain a full and intense wine with hints of red fruit and spices in the finish. It goes perfectly with game, beef and mature cheeses. Serve at 16 ° - 18 ° C.

History of the wine: Gutturnio is obtained from Barbera (55-70%) and Croatina (30-45%). The name derives from a silver mug called Gutturnium, found on the banks of the Po river in Croce S. Spirito (Castelvetro Piacentino) in 1878, used by the ancient Romans to drink wine. To learn more about the history of Gutturnio, click here
